March 2, 2016

Katie Carter has a B.A. in Art (University of Wisconsin), is a certified nutrition consultant (Hawthorn University 2012), a certified yoga teacher and founder of Wild Mountain Yoga studio in Nevada City, CA (1995- 2010) and a Certified Food and Spirit Practitioner. Katie believes the food choices we make are extremely important, not only because food is essential for the foundation of our health, but it also connects us to our inner and outer environments – our emotions, creativity, intuition, wisdom, people, animals, nature and the universe. Food can be a powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison. Its effect can impact more than just our physical body because we are such multi-faceted beings. In her practice, Katie works privately with clients of all ages and teaches group classes in detoxification, weight loss, and restorative & chakra yoga. Katie lives in a small town in Northern CA where she and her husband built their own house, raised 2 healthy sons and she enjoys cooking, gardening, hiking, supporting community sustainability, and spending time with family and friends.
