Autumn Smith graduated Summa cum Laude from the Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition program at Hawthorn University in 2015. Autumn has been a health enthusiast and wellness warrior her entire life.  She danced professionally, became a certified yoga instructor, and worked as a fitness trainer. During her fitness career she grew frustrated that exercise was not effective in restoring radiant health for some of her clients. This ignited her passion and interest in the study of holistic nutrition. Autumn founded Paleovalley, a holistic wellness website with her husband in 2013. Paleovalley’s mission is to disseminate information, organic food products, and high quality food-based supplements based on the principles of the paleo diet with 100 million people worldwide in order to restore vibrant health.

Listen to case studies from Dr. Bianca Garilli’s practice as a naturopathic doctor as she demonstrates using holistic nutrition to prevent and work with chronic diseases. Dr. Garilli addresses issues such as childhood ADHD, cardiovascular disease, and immune system support.
 
Hawthorn University welcomes back faculty member Dr. Bianca Garilli, ND for a Case Studies Webinar - Using Nutrition in Clinical Practice:  Approaches and Outcomes on Tuesday, July 5th, 2016 at 4 PM PST / 7 PM EST.

In the case studies presented, therapeutics will focus on the importance of an individualized holistic nutritional approach and highlight the value of nutrition in chronic disease prevention and treatment.   Dr. Garilli will explore information gathering techniques, considerations for follow up lab work, nutritional supplementation, and the importance of understanding when and how to make referrals to appropriate healthcare professionals.

Bianca Garilli is a former US Marine. She runs a private practice in Folsom, California where she specializes in treating and preventing chronic disease states through a personalized lifestyle approach including nutrition, exercise, botanical medicine and homeopathy. 

She consults with nutritional supplement companies and integrative medical clinics.  Dr. Garilli is a member of the faculty at Hawthorn University and President for the CA Chapter of the Children’s Heart Foundation.   She lives in Northern California with her husband, children and their four backyard chickens.

What's Ailing Your Gut? SIBO May Be the Culprit!

Glen Depke, Traditional Naturopath's presentation of What's Ailing Your Gut? SIBO May Be the Culprit! is now available for review at the link below. What puts you at risk for SIBO? SIBO, or small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, has been shown to have a negative effect on the small bowel, healthy digestion, nutrient absorption, and can lead to leaky gut and a number of other symptoms.  Glen Depke, Traditional Naturopath, will delve into what SIBO is, the primary cause, and the importance of a SIBO diet.  Glen will also discuss a simple home assessment and additional testing options and addressing SIBO naturally as opposed to treating it with antibiotics, overcoming SIBO protocol.

Glen Depke holds degrees as a Traditional Naturopath, a Bachelor of Science in Natural Health, and a diploma in Professional Holistic Iridology. He has additional training in the Kalish method assessing the three main body systems, emotional freedom technique (EFT), Metabolic Typing, traditional Chinese assessments, and German drainage therapy. Glen has become known as a master in adrenal insufficiency, functional healing, customized nutrition and gluten intolerance, and is often recognized as the “gluten guy.” He has worked alongside some of the most prominent healers of our time, most notably, Dr. Joseph Mercola and the staff at the Center for Natural Health; where he held the positions of chief nutritionist, primary EFT therapist, and wellness director. Glen developed the system of nutritional typing used by Dr. Mercola’s clinic. His intention is to empower individuals to reach their health and wellness goals by addressing their individual imbalances while releasing any blocks that hinder them from this goal; whether these blocks are physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual.
