Dawn Viola is a holistic nutrition educator with a Master of Science in Health and Nutrition Education from Hawthorn University. She is also a Certified Executive Chef, and founder of This Honest Food, a holistic teaching kitchen and kitchen retail store with a focus on healthy cooking.

SIBO: Breath Testing for Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Glen Depke, Traditional Naturopath

In the 3rd webinar of our Functional Lab Testing for Every Practice series we learn about SIBO, or Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth. SIBO is a condition in which abnormally large numbers of bacteria – the types that are normally found in the large intestine – migrate into the small intestine.

Recognize the primary underlying conditions that most often lead to SIBO;
Learn how breath testing measures the gases produced by SIBO;
Be able to interpret the results of breath tests to determine the severity of a person’s SIBO problem;
Develop an approach for incorporating breath testing into the majority of clinical cases;
Learn about diet and supplementation options for helping to resolve SIBO.

Glen Depke holds degrees as a Traditional Naturopath, a Bachelor of Science in Natural Health, and a diploma in Professional Holistic Iridology. He has also been trained in the Kalish method of assessing the three main body systems via functional testing, emotional freedom technique (EFT), Metabolic Typing, traditional Chinese assessment tools, and German drainage therapy. Glen has become known as a master in adrenal insufficiency, more appropriately referred to as HPA axis dysfunction, as well as, functional testing protocols, customized nutrition and food sensitivity. He has worked alongside some of the most prominent healers of our time, most notably, Dr. Joseph Mercola and the staff at the Center for Natural Health; where he held the positions of chief nutritionist, EFT therapist, and wellness director. Glen began his education and implementation of functional testing during his years at Dr. Mercola’s clinic and has studied with our world’s leaders in functional medicine over the past 17 years to fine tune this healing approach. His intention is to empower individuals to reach their health and wellness goals by addressing their individual imbalances while releasing any blocks that hinder them from this goal; whether these blocks are physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual.
