Watch All About Alumni: Crafting a Career from a Base of Volunteerism with Libby Bar-Kochba, BS, MSHN

Not everyone who studies (in any field) chooses to open their own business. Many of us study for the sheer joy of learning, or to add to a list of services we may already offer, and this has been the case for Hawthorn MSHN graduate Libby Bar-Kochba. Libby joins us to discuss how a lifetime of work in fields both in and outside of nutrition, as well as volunteer work, have prepared her to provide services to many people. Libby believes this mindset is a result of having studied Holistic Nutrition at Hawthorn University. She will discuss how one may take the skills learned at Hawthorn and apply them to many areas within the world of health, nutrition and other fields.

Hawthorn University’s All About Alumni graduate webinar series welcomes Libby Bar-Kochba, BS, MSHN for Crafting a Career from a Base of Volunteerism. The recording of Libby's presentation is now available to watch in our Webinar Archives.

Review Military Veteran Healthcare: Improving Awareness and Access to Integrative and Functional Medicine Solutions with Bianca Garilli, ND

With over 22 million military veterans in the United States, the topic of veteran healthcare is an important one. Veterans’ health needs vary greatly depending on their time/era of service and types of exposures and experiences during their military service. Approximately 2/3 of veterans are being seen by local community healthcare providers. However, according to a recent RAND study, only 2% of civilian healthcare providers have the understanding necessary to effectively work with this population. This webinar is meant to introduce veterans’ unique needs and characteristics to community healthcare providers and to explore the role of integrative and functional medicine solutions in the support of their healing journey.

Join us as we welcome Hawthorn faculty member Bianca Garilli, ND for the webinar Military Veteran Healthcare: Improving Awareness and Access to Integrative and Functional Medicine Solutions.

Dr. Garilli's webinar presentation is now available for review in our Webinar Archives.

The goal of this important webinar is to increase awareness of the healthcare challenges facing the nation’s veterans and to explore emerging integrative and functional medicine solutions to solve these issues. This will include:
Reviewing veteran community demographics;
Discussing the unique set of healthcare challenges facing veterans;
Exploring current integrative and functional medicine approaches available both in the veteran administration and within the private sector;
