Obesity and the Gut Microbiome with Tami Chu, MS

Have you wondered how your gut “bugs”, or microbes, compare to those of your ancestors?  Or if your gut inhabitants have more to do with your daily life than you had previously thought?

"Obesity and the Gut Microbiome", with presenter Tami Chu, is now available to review in Hawthorn University's Webinar Archives:

In this webinar, Tami talks about the gut microbiome as our own personal "pet", discusses the links to obesity, describes her own personal microbiome experiment, and then shows some potential lifestyle adjustments we can make to "stack the deck" in favor of leanness and overall health.

Tami Chu is a recent graduate of Hawthorn University's Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition program (MSHN).  She is a longtime educator with a second master's degree in Deaf Education.  While homeschooling her kids and raising chickens, she ran a local buyer's club and co-lead the Weston A. Price Foundation chapter in her area.  She currently teaches nutrition classes locally and hosts a brand new podcast called Organic Crumbs, all while starting her nutrition coaching business, Organic Crumbs Wellness. Holistic Nutrition in a Clinical Setting with HU Graduate Tracey Fox, NC - Recording Now Available!

Did you miss this week's All About Alumni graduate webinar?  Hawthorn graduate Tracey Fox is here to reveal how she’s succeeding practicing holistic nutrition in a state that restricts health care freedoms.  Hawthorn University All About Alumni Graduate Webinar Series welcomes graduate Tracey Fox, NC (NC 2011) for her presentation of Holistic Nutrition in a Clinical Setting: Making Lemonade Out of Lemons in North Carolina.  Tracey's webinar presentation is now available to view here:

Hawthorn Summa Cum Laude graduate Tracey Fox, NC, will demonstrate how she is able to work her passion while making a living in holistic nutrition in North Carolina - the most restrictive state in the country for health care freedoms.   Aligning with open-minded, integrative, and gifted doctors has allowed Tracey to do the work she loves, to design nutrition and lifestyle protocols for some extraordinary and critical cases that holistic nutrition rarely gets to impact…from Autism to Zellwinger’s and many disorders in between.

Tracey is the Director of Nutrition at Integra Wellness Center, North Carolina. She also sees patients of Integra Rehabilitation Physicians, and The Brain Restoration Clinic where she assists a team of doctors in providing nutritional counseling and lifestyle strategies to their patients. She also teaches classes on holistic health all over the country. Tracey is co-founder of Holistic Reboot, a very popular 5-week class series. She runs a virtual practice where geography is not a limitation to the people that she sees.  Tracey believes the foundation of good health comes from eating real foods based on a person’s biochemical individuality. Whole foods, stress reduction, and lifestyle management she feels are the foundations of optimal health.

Tracey has appeared on many local Charlotte television and radio shows, as well as print media. She enjoys exercise in all forms, yoga, meditation, cooking, inventing recipes, reading, hiking, and exploring the farmer’s market.
