Kira Whitham MA, MS, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Hawthorn University’s Master of Science degree in Health and Nutrition Education program. After graduation, she launched her career working independently as a functional nutrition coach, counseling clients on nutrition and lifestyle choices. This past year, Kira has contracted with a local Functional Medicine MD and has expanded her clientele. She is passionate about helping people find wellness and getting to the root cause of their health issues.

Carolyn completed Hawthorn’s Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition in June, 2017, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Soon after graduation, she turned her attention to promoting another way to reduce pain and heal from orthopedic injury to reduce the need for opioids and the risk of developing chronic pain conditions following orthopedic injury/surgery.  Carolyn came to our industry through her own healing journey and her desire to improve the healing of her patients in her physical therapy practice. Her mission with her business is two-fold: 1) To serve as a resource for health care providers that seek to offer an alternative to their patients to reduce the need for addictive pain medications, 2) to provide a comprehensive and practical healing plan for patients recovering from painful conditions, injuries, or surgery seeking to avoid pharmaceutical pain medication.

Certain essential oils can be combined with herbs for specific therapeutic benefits. In this presentation, David Crow returns and explores how essential oils and aromatherapy can be integrated with herbal treatments.
