Jill Maronde is a holistic nutritionist practicing in the Portland, Oregon area. She holds a Master of Holistic Nutrition degree from Hawthorn University as well as a B.A. degree in Psychology from The University of Puget Sound. Jill enjoys educating her clients on the connection between a nutrient-dense, whole-foods based diet and their well-being. She focuses on balance, variety and moderation and believes that eating well is a lifestyle, not a “diet”. Jill’s passion is helping others attain optimal health and the chance to live their best lives. Review Combining Herbs and Essential Oils – Part One with David Crow, L.Ac.

Awareness of essential oils is growing rapidly, and combining them with herbs is a potent approach for healing. We are fortunate to have David Crow, L.Ac. teach us how to use them safely and effectively in this 2 part webinar, Combining Herbs and Essential Oils: Highly Effective Remedies for Common Health Challenges. Victor Cozzetto is a Computer Scientist and nutritionist; having graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Wise Traditions Nutrition certificate program at Hawthorn University. He started pursuing a wellness career when he found that mainstream education and the medical establishment disagreed with his own research and beliefs. He is passionate about the teachings and efforts of the Weston A. Price Foundation (WAPF) and is grateful to Hawthorn for providing formal education on the work of Dr. Price and holistic and ancestral knowledge. Victor has lived and worked overseas with his own IT business for over twenty years, and now focuses on coaching and mentoring for wellness with global partners through his Vitagenics website. He has won various technical awards, including the U.S. Air Force award for the "Best Technician in the World" for the combined fields of Computers, Communications, and Electronics, and he now uses his IT skills to support his wellness efforts. He currently spends his time living between Japan, Costa Rica, and the U.S.

Dr. Alschuler’s presentation will explore the criticality of happiness to both patient and practitioner and to the transformative evolution of clinical practice. Using understandings derived from positive psychology and neurobiology, the determinates and components of happiness will be explored. Through a unique application of positive psychology techniques, the presentation will provide strategies for creating happiness in ourselves and in our clients, and, as a result, transforming our clinical practices. These strategies will be reinforced with case examples and stories of happiness.

Lise Alschuler is a naturopathic doctor with board certification in naturopathic oncology and has been practicing since 1994. She graduated from Brown University with an undergraduate degree in Medical Anthropology and received a doctoral degree in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University. Dr. Alschuler is past-President and Board member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and a founding board member and immediate Past-President of the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Dr. Alschuler works as an independent consultant in the area of practitioner and consumer health education. She has been an invited speaker to more than 100 scientific/medical conferences, published 16 peer-reviewed articles, been a co-investigator on 5 research studies, written 6 chapters for medical textbooks, and has co-authored two books, Definitive Guide to Cancer, now in its 3rd edition, and Definitive Guide to Thriving After Cancer. The American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP) recognized Dr. Alschuler in 2014 as Physician of the Year. She also received an honorary degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and the Joseph Pizzorno Founders award from Bastyr University in the same year. She was honored with the AANP President’s award in 2016 and received the Impact award from the National Association of Nutrition Professionals in 2017.

Dr. Alschuler is the Executive Director of TAP Integrative, a nonprofit educational resource for integrative practitioners. Dr. Alschuler is a Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Arizona School of Medicine where she is on the faculty of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine.  Dr. Alschuler is the co-founder of Five To Thrive, LLC., which has developed the iTHRIVE Plan SaaS mobile web application that creates customized wellness plans for cancer survivors. She maintains a naturopathic oncology practice out of Naturopathic Specialists in Scottsdale AZ. Dr. Alschuler also co-hosts a radio show, Five To Thrive Live! on the Cancer Support Network about living more healthfully in the face of cancer. Previously, she was the department head of naturopathic medicine at Midwestern Regional Medical Center – Cancer Treatment Centers of America. She was also the clinic medical director and botanical medicine chair at Bastyr, as well she was on the faculty of Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine.
